The first four poems on this page were part of my book Shadows of Truth in its earlier form. They have been removed from the second version of the book. By. Prashant Solomon Written
on March 24, 1993 I sleep, I wake, I slept again, "How can this be?" I asked. Then the Earth began to rumble and quake; Again I heard the voice of my dreams: I said aloud; The Voice said to me:
"Oh! My Little Son... Life is but a Dream!"

Dreams
My thoughts are now a dream;
Oh! How real they seem!
My dreams are now a thought;
And I thought, My thoughts were real;
Am I the Thinker? Or the Dreamer?
I saw a light that said to me:
"I am you and you are me;
I am the dreamer and you are the dream!"
"Tell me, are you awake? Or are you asleep?"
Thinking that the dream was real I said:
"I am awake."
I opened my eyes and jumped out of bed;
Thanking God that I was not dead.
"Are you asleep? Or are you awake?"
"Oh Lord! Is this the Truth? Or is this a Dream?"
Magic
I walked on the windy beach;
The sun was bright, the sea was clear;
The surf was white, yet I shed a tear. My
love had gone, I miss her so;
Crying, I walked to this great wet rock;
Sat there, not knowing what to do about; Two years had passed and
nothing else had I thought;
If only there was Magic, I would bring her back;
If only there was Magic, I would be with her;
God, my love was so sincere; "Oh God!
Please bring her back!"
"Oh God! Please bring her back!" I walked towards home, crying hard;
found a corked bottle and opened it;
Out came a genie big and round; The Genie said, "I'm the King of
Magic. Make a Wish!"
"I loved a girl.. now she's dead;
Please bring her back," I said. Laughing hard, the genie disappeared.
I cried harder and walked on home; "My
Love, My Love!" she did scream
I turned around and rubbed my eyes; For my Love, this girl did seem!
It was her, yes it was!
I screamed and cried with delight;
My lips met hers and then I said, "My
Love, there is Magic. I know there is!" High Above The Lord watched
after removing the Genie mask: smiling He said, "Oh well! At least they still believe .. in Magic!"
Destiny
By. Prashant Solomon
Written on June 1, 1995
What is destiny?
Is it for me to find?
Is it the ruler of all mankind?
Or is it like a clock that I must wind?
A mystery it shall remain,
Causing anxiety and sometimes pain,
Does it come from heaven like drops of rain?
What is destiny?
For some it is love, power or fame;
For others it is sadness, hunger or shame;
For all of us, it is but life's game.
For a river, it is the sea;
But what is it, for you and me?
Listen when they say, "What will be, will be."
What is destiny?
Will a pilot reach the sky, if he does not fly?
Is it only uptil the day we die?
Or do we still have a destiny even after we say, "Good bye!"
Must we look for one true love?
Or will it come from heaven, like a dove?
For when we have love, thank the Lord Above!
What is destiny?
Is it the result of what we do?
Or is it just a dream come true?
I hope it is good for me and you!
Patience reveals destiny, yours and mine;
Believe that like a diamond you will shine;
If you want to touch the sky, you must say, "Lord...It Is Thine!"
River of Life
By. Prashant Solomon
Written on August 9, 1995
Deep
inside a glacier, the River of Life sleeps;
Through the melting ice it is born, but it weeps!
Through the mountain high it learns to walk, pure as love and light;
Through the foot-hills it learns of things that are not always good
in sight!
Through the plains, it meanders; now it's full grown;
The River makes little rivers of it's own!
Into the delta it goes, full of dirt and soil;
To reach this delta has been a journey of great toil!
As it reaches the Ocean;
It sees it's entire life in slow motion!
Then it evaporates and goes into the sky;
Not even given a chance to say, 'Good bye!'
No more dirt and no more flow;
High up into the Light it must go!
Mixing with other rivers that have come up too;
It is like a ship with a large crew!
Falling down on another glacier... the River of Life is born again!
Free me O Lord
By Prashant Solomon
Written on December 21, 2004O Lord..
Free me from fear, that has kept me apart from Thee;
Free me from delusion, that has kept me away from Thy Divine Consciousness;
Free me from anger, that has deluded my consciousness of Divine Love;
Free me from ego, that has made me feel apart from my Divine identity;
Free me from the darkness of my own melancholy, that has eluded me from perceiving Thy Divine Bliss;
Free me from my spiritual blindness that has kept me tied down to the false joys of this physical world and open my eyes so I can see the Divine Light shining brighter than a billion billion suns!
Free the world from evil, so that the Divine Joy of Infinite Bliss and Love shall prevail upon it.
Free me from all things that separate me from Thee, so that I
will come into Thee and in no way ever depart!
