Space shuttle Discovery
returns home
(August 11, 2005)
Sir, With the safe return of the space shuttle Discovery
on Tuesday, the human spirit of discovery has been reborn after
the tragic disintegration of Columbia in 2003. Once again, the human
race has touched space that endless ocean of discovery, which
we have as yet just dipped our toes into. The 21st century should
see more progress in the field of space exploration and colonisation.
With the growing number of extra-solar planets, it is just a matter
of time before we find another planet that can support life and,
better yet, a planet that already has life and hopefully,
intelligent life too. Until then, we must continue with the process
of discovery. Next destination Mars.
